BIG SUR

BIG SUR

Having heard so much about Big Sur, we’d been looking forward to seeing it and to finally driving along Highway 1. We were not disappointed. It is one of the most breathtaking places on Earth.

The funniest part about our drive was that we got to experience it in every weather condition you could think of; one second it was sunny, then it was foggy, then cloudy, then rainy… and it was like this the entire time! Of course this drive took a lot longer than it should’ve, as we were stopping every 5 minutes to take photos!

One of our favorite stops was Bixby Bridge, also probably the most popular, but the view is just breathtaking.

The other one is McWay Falls in the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. It’s a little hike till you get to see the falls, but we highly suggest you do it!

For lunch, we were highly recommended to go to Nepenthe; this restaurant is located on a terrace overlooking the 50 miles of coastline, the view from here is supposed to be amazing, but we can’t tell for ourselves as it was so foggy we literally couldn’t see anything, but we still think it’s the best place along the road!
